Hormonal Contraception Longitudinal (HCL) Study

Over 300 million women worldwide use some form of hormonal contraception (HC), such as birth control pills, patches, rings and Depo Provera shots. It is known that HC affects the immune responses and normal bacterial communities of the female reproductive tract. We want to better understand how the length of HC use affects these things. Such information may enable us to better counsel and care for women during their reproductive years.

To gather that information, we want to follow women who are starting or currently on HC, as well as women who are not starting or currently on HC for a period of two years. We hope you will consider being one of these women!

For more information or to enroll, please contact us at 410-550-8698 or HCLStudy@jhmi.edu.
