Dr. Janelle Coughlin is a licensed psychologist who has been a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine since 2004. She completed her master’s degree at the Johns Hopkins University, her doctoral degree at West Virginia University, and her pre-doctoral internship at the Medical College of Ohio’s Psychology Internship Consortium. She then completed a post-doctoral clinical research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Coughlin’s clinical and research expertise is in eating disorders and weight management. She is particularly interested in binge eating disorder and behavioral interventions that help obese individuals maintain weigh loss. She has been an investigator for a number of research studies and has published several research articles and book chapters on the topic of disordered eating and weight management. Dr. Coughlin is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Academy for Eating Disorders, where she serves as co-chair of the body image special interest group. She has a faculty appointment at both the East Baltimore and Bayview campuses of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. | |
