Before we can schedule your consultation with our surgeons, you must attend a mandatory Information Session. We have hosted Information Sessions at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and at the Wellness Center at Howard County General, and we also offer an online Information Session. These Information Sessions are for individuals (and their friends and families!) interested in learning more about the surgical weight loss options available at the Johns Hopkins Center for Bariatric Surgery. You'll also learn about our program requirements and how to navigate the insurance approval process.

Our new online Information Session fulfills the same requirement as the hosted Information Session. The Information Session is best viewed using Internet Explorer. The quiz that follows the Information Session IS NOT COMPATIBLE with Firefox, Opera, or Safari. Grab a pencil and some paper, because there will be a short quiz afterwards to assess your understanding! Please turn off your pop-up blocker - the quiz uses pop-up windows. The username and password for the quiz will be revealed during the Information Session. Be sure to watch all three videos! After you complete the Information Session, you will need to download and complete the New Patient Packet before we can schedule your consultation. More details about this will be provided after the Information Session.
