Geriatric medicine focuses on health promotion, and the prevention and treatment of diseases, frailty and disability in older adults. The geriatrics program at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is made up of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team of geriatricians, gerontologists and specialized nursing staff.

Endocrinology is the study of hormones, the chemical messengers sent from one part of the body to communicate with another part of the body. Board-certified endocrinology experts at Johns Hopkins Bayview specialize in endocrine disorders including diabetes mellitus, fluid disorders, cholesterol disorders, thyroid disease, metabolic disease (osteoporosis and calcium disorders) and male hormonal disorders.
