The Wound Management Program at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Care Center is two-fold: first, to provide specialized services to patients with complex wounds and second, to provide comprehensive prevention services to all patients to preserve skin integrity and enhance healing.
Care Team
Physicians who specialize in wound care oversee the team and coordinate medical services. Care is managed by a certified wound-care specialist. Our nurses and patient care technicians have additional training and education in wound care.
Clinical Services
The wound care program provides:
- Individual plans of care developed with input from patients and their families and the interdisciplinary team
- Weekly rounds with wound team medical staff
- Evidence-based practice, validated by research
- Referral to other medical, surgical, or rehabilitation services, as needed
