The Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency Program at Hopkins Bayview allows PA residents the opportunity to train at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions for a career in emergency medicine. Residents are paid a stipend of $40,000 per year (a total of $60,000 for the entirety of the residency-18 months), and are provided life, AD&D, short-term disability and malpractice insurance. Medical, dental and vision plans also are offered, as well as continuing medical education funds. All residents receive paid time off. The program is based at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and is part of the Association of Post-graduate PA Programs. The emergency medicine residency at Hopkins Bayview will enhance the knowledge of certified physician assistants in the field of emergency medicine through various disciplines receiving hands-on training in intensive care units, the emergency department, operating room, outpatient and inpatient clinics. Participating PA residents are expected to uphold the Medical Center's core values of teamwork, communication, honesty and integrity as they grow to become competent and confident emergency medicine physician assistants.
