Johns Hopkins Bayview Internal Medicine Residency Program

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Johns Hopkins Bayview, renowned for excellence in residency training in internal medicine, primary care, geriatric medicine and several medical sub-specialites, provides a wealth of experience and opportunity to residents.

Johns Hopkins Bayview, a major teaching, clinical and research facility of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, offers a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment for academic medicine. The combination of a talented, dedicated faculty, a unique blend of ambulatory and inpatient training, and exposure to known generalists and sub-specialists allow residents and housestaff the opportunity to become leaders in their chosen fields.

Nationally-recognized for outstanding curriculum and innovations in medical education, the General Internal Medicine Residency Program is fully-accredited by thte Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Embracing Diversity

Hardly any other residency program serves as diverse a patient population, in terms of socioeconomic status, medical conditions and ethnicity, as the program at Johns Hopkins Bayview. This aspect adds a valuable richness to education for medical residents.

The Medical Center also promotes diversity among faculty, staff and students, as well as patients and visitors, and provides a warm and embraceful environment for residents of different cultures and backgrounds. Currently, one-third of the current housestaff are from ethnic and racial groups that traditionally are under-represented in medicine.
