For the third consecutive year, the Baltimore City Health Department recognized the Pediatric Clinic at the Center for Addiction and Pregnancy (CAP) for excellence in childhood vaccination coverage rates; compliance with the Centers for Disease Control's "Standards for Child and Adolescent Immunization Practices;" early adoption of new vaccine types and recommended schedules; and compliance with Baltimore's " Immunization Registry Program." The clinic was one of seven in Baltimore City recognized for excellence in these areas.
The award was presented to Lauren Jansson, M.D., medical director of CAP Pediatrics, and Vickie Walters, program director of CAP, on Wednesday, May 7, by Baltimore City health commissioner, Joshua Sharfstein, M.D.
