Bigelow Receives Award from the College on Problems of Drug Dependence

George Bigelow, Ph.D., a faculty member in the department of psychiatry and director of the Behavioral Pharmacology Research Unit (BPRU) at Johns Hopkins Bayview, has received the mentorship award from the College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD). This award is given annually to a member of CPDD who has been an exemplary mentor to developing researchers working in the field of drug abuse and addiction.

Dr. Bigelow has directed the BPRU post-doctoral training program for more than 25 years. The program has trained over 50 scientists, many of whom have gone on to establish their own successful careers as independent researchers and thought leaders in the field.
