On Thursday, January 26, the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Diversity Council will host a special forum about kidney disease and donation. This unique event will feature a kidney donor, kidney recipient and four physicians. The panelists will discuss who can donate a kidney, consequences of donating and address myths surrounding kidney donation. Renee Blanding, M.D., Vice President of Medical Affairs at Johns Hopkins Bayview, will moderate the forum. It is free and open to the public.
It is important information to learn because kidney disease can affect anyone, and you may want to help one day or have a family member who needs help now. There are more than 95,000 people on the transplant list, waiting for a live kidney. Please consider attending the forum to learn more!
