Karen Armacost, RN, BSN, director of Hopkins ElderPlus at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, was granted fellowship status by the National Gerontological Nursing Association (NGNA). This honor recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the field of gerontological nursing.
As an NGNA Fellow, Armacost will serve as an advocate for aging and health issues in cooperation with NGNA and act as a liaison between the association and other nursing and gerontological organizations.
NGNA is dedicated to improving the quality of nursing care given to older adults. Members include clinicians, educators and researchers with vastly different educational preparation, clinical roles and interest in practice issues.
