Andrew J. Satin, M.D., FACOG, has been appointed chair of obstetrics and gynecology at Johns Hopkins Bayview.
Bringing more than 20 years of experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology to the role, Dr. Satin earned a medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda and completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
Before joing Johns Hopkins Bayview, Dr. Satin was professor and chair of the Uniformed Services University F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in the department of obstetrics and gynecology. He also served as an attending physician at both the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Satin has been published in various medical journals, including American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Obstetrics & Gynecology. He holds several national leadership positions, including chair of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ Committee on Practice Bulletins and is a member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Residency Review Committee for Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Satin is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine.
