Pat Letke-Alexander, PA-C, clinical director of the Community Care-A-Van, has been named Physician Assistant (PA) of the Year by the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants.
Letke-Alexander was recognized for her clinical excellence and commitment to the PA Core Values. She also has demonstrated dedication to community service and increased public awareness of the PA role to society.
Since 1999, when the Care-A-Van made its first appearance to the Southeast Baltimore community, Letke-Alexander has been a driving force in its success. She sees the Care-A-Van, which provides treatment, prevention, education and maternal child health, as an opportunity to impact the lives of those who have no medical insurance or are underserved.
Letke-Alexander most recently received the Dr. Sebastian Russo Memorial Award, given by the Baltimore City Health Department in honor of her dedication to the Care-A-Van.
