Robert Brooner, Ph.D., director of Addiction Treatment Services, was selected as a 2009 recipient of The Marie Nyswander and Vincent Dole Annual Award for his outstanding contributions to the treatment of opioid dependence disorder.
Named after Vincent Dole, M.D., and his late wife Marie Nyswander, M.D., who worked together to develop methadone maintenance treatment for opioid dependence, the award recognizes individuals whose work has substantially advanced the evolving understanding and treatment of opioid dependence. It is presented by the American Association of Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD). Dr. Brooner will receive the award at the annual AATOD conference in April 2009.
Dr. Brooner was recently one the recipients of The Joint Commission’s 2007 Ernest Amory Codman Award. The award recognized Addiction Treatment Services for its Motivated Stepped Care treatment model.
