Johns Hopkins Bayview Offers Prenatal Education Classes

Johns Hopkins Bayview offers prenatal classes devoted to childbirth preparation, parenting and baby safety. Upcoming classes are scheduled for the following dates and times.

Childbirth Preparation
March 13 and 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Led by a certified childbirth educator, this course provides expectant mothers and their labor coaches in-depth instruction on labor, delivery, pain control and other topics related to the birth experience. Cost is $65.

Breastfeeding Class
March 14, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Thinking about breastfeeding your newborn baby? Learn the benefits of breastfeeding, behaviors of a normal newborn, how to pump and store breast milk, and how medications and contraceptives affect breastfeeding. Cost for the class is $30.

Tours of the Maternity Center
March 13, from 2 to 3 p.m.
On your tour of the Maternity Center, you'll find state-of-the-art labor, delivery and recovery suites with a home-like atmosphere. Tours also include visits to the newborn nursery and postpartum rooms, as well as to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), emergency room, admitting area and Stork Parking.
