Board Certification American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology American Board of Medical Genetics Biography Shama Jari, M.D., FACOG, assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, is dedicated to the complete care of women, including general obstetrical and gynecologic care, and gynecologic surgery. Her clinical and research interests include fetal ultrasound abnormalities, genetic conditions, abnormal maternal serum screening. Dr. Jari also has expertise in prenatal genetic counseling, as well as a full range of prenatal diagnostic testing procedures, including obstetric ultrasound, Doppler studies, amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS). Dr. Jari earned a medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Union Memorial Hospital. She also completed fellowship training in medical genetics at the Magee Womens Hospital (University of Pittsburgh).
