Biography
Alex Kor, D.P.M., MS, earned an undergraduate degree at Butler University and a master's in exercise physiology at Purdue University. He trained in podiatric medicine at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, and completed a residency podiatric surgery at Westside V.A. Medical Center (University of Illinois).
Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, Dr. Kor has served as the team podiatrist at the NCAA Division I level (University of Evansville in Evansville, IN), the NCAA Division II level (Bowie State University in Bowie, MD) and the NCAA Division III level (Knox College in Galesburg, IL). In 2002, he initiated a study (funded by the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine) at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation that focused on measuring the flexibility of the shank of a running shoe and its relationship to plantar fasciitis.
Dr. Kor also writes a sports medicine column in "Mid-Atlantic Matchpoint" (a mid-Atlantic newspaper) and volunteers at the Montgomery County Road Runners Club Stride Clinic.
