Biography
Tariq Nayfeh, M.D., Ph.D., is an internationally recognized leader in cementless, low-wear technology. His everyday surgical experience includes complex infected revisions. He also holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, and is an accomplished researcher in biomaterials. He completed a fellowship in total joint replacement.
Dr. Nayfeh has research interests in the design and kinematics of prosthetic joints, biomechanics of human gait, and nonlinear and structural dynamics, and particularly in high flexion joint replacement, biomaterials, infection in joint replacements (treatment, detection, and prevention). His combined expertise in surgical knowledge and engineering has giving him a unique perspective in biomaterials, which he has shared in numerous journal publications, and in speaking and instructing at numerous exhibits, meetings and conferences.
