Biography
R. Duane Cespedes, M.D., has expertise in pelvic reconstruction, including surgical procedures for severe pelvic prolapse and sling procedures for male and female incontinence, as well as minimally invasive procedures to treat incontinence, such as bladder injections and bulking agents.
After earning an M.D. from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland., Dr. Cespedes completed a residency in urology at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and a fellowship in female urology, voiding dysfunction and incontinence at the University of Texas in Houston.
Dr. Cespedes joined the Women's Center for Pelvic Health at Johns Hopkins Bayview after serving as the urology residency program director, chairman of the urology department and chairman of the Institutional Review Board at Wilford Hall Medical Center.
Board-certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Cespedes has written and published several book chapters, as well as articles in the Journal of Urology and Urology.
