From points South (including BWI Airport): Take I-295 north to the Harbor Tunnel Thruway (I-895). After exiting the tunnel, take exit 12, Lombard Street. At the first stop light, proceed straight onto Bayview Boulevard. -or- Take I-95 through the Fort McHenry Tunnel to exit 59 (Eastern Avenue). Turn left onto Eastern Avenue and proceed approximately one mile to Bayview Boulevard on the right. From points North and East: Take I-95 south to exit 59 (Eastern Avenue). Turn right onto Eastern Avenue (west) and proceed approximately one mile to Bayview Boulevard on the right. -or- Take I-895 south to exit 12, Lombard Street. On the day of your surgery, you should report to the third-floor Ambulatory Surgical Unit (ASU). You will be contacted the day before surgery, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., to let you know what time to report to the hospital the day of your surgery. If your surgery is scheduled for a Monday, you will be contacted the Friday before your surgery. If you wish to contact the ASU yourself, call the unit between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. the day before your surgery at 410-550-0449. Follow these pre-operative instructions leading up to your surgery: - Schedule a pre-operative appointment within 30 days of your surgery date.
- Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery; do not drink water, chew gum or smoke.
- Do not wear make up, nail polish or jewelry the day of your surgery.
- Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen during the week prior to your surgery. If you need medication for pain, you may take Tylenol.
- If you acquire a fever, cough or cold, call your doctor immediately. Surgery will not be performed if you are ill.
- If you wear glasses or contact lenses, please wear them to your surgery. You will need to sign consent forms.
- If your surgery is an outpatient procedure, you will need to acquire transportation to get home after surgery.
